Rum

Not all rum is created equal. There is the sweeter mass-produced spirit that rears its ugly head at spring break bashes and in sickly sweet frozen daiquiris, and then there are the more refined options.

Like a Benetton ad, these rums come in a variety of colors. Rhum agricole is some of the purest, made from fresh-squeezed sugar cane juice. Rum can be aged in French cognac barrels and some will give your scotch a run for its money.
