Zeb Negroni

My favorite cocktail is a Negroni on the rocks with a big slice of fresh orange in it. I think of this cocktail as an old Italian man’s drink, and even though I'm neither old nor Italian, I'll probably be drinking this the rest of my life. I’m pretty particular in the way I like this drink, and the perfect Zeb Negroni would be as follows.

Yield

1 drink

Ingredients

1 oz Plymouth Gin (my favorite, along with Beefeater)

1 oz Campari

1 oz Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth, if you can find it! (if not, any good sweet vermouth will do)

Directions

1) Stir ingredients a mixing glass with ice and strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass.

2) Garnish with a orange twist for the classic way, or my way with a big wedge of fresh orange.

Special Note

You can make a pitcher of Negroni and keep it in your fridge, and it’s one of my favorite things to serve at a party. Just pour equal parts gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth into a glass pitcher (and pre-slice the oranges), and before serving give it a quick stir, pour over ice, and garnish.
