“Fifteen men on a dead man's chest.
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum.
Drink and the devil had done for the rest.”

- Robert Lewis Stevenson’s Treasure Island

Famously associated with the Royal Navy and pirates, rum has enjoyed a revival over the past few years. Mostly produced in the Caribbean and Latin America, it’s made from both fresh-squeezed sugarcane juice and sugarcane by-products, such as molasses.

Whether you are mixing or sipping, view the slide show to find out which rums are recommended by bartenders, chefs and pastry chefs.
