El Xampanyet may look like a bit touristy and there are certainly more than a handful of folks holding maps and guidebooks, but this is a place that also has a large local following. Businessmen, club kids, and families stop in for their house-made sparkling wine (xampanyet) and tapas. Just steps from the Picasso Museum, they’ve been pouring cava and cider since they opened in the 1930’s. Still family owned, this is a traditional tapas bar and most would agree, very authentic.
