They don't call it tapas in the Basque Country, it's pintxos (pronounced "pin-choss"). San Sebastian is where the Spanish royals used to frolic, so it makes perfect sense that this seaside resort town would host a twice daily, culinary-driven cocktail party. The ritual is called tikiteo, where people amble from bar to bar snacking on tiny amuse-bouche canapes and drinking Txakoli wine. In a city that holds the bragging rights to more Michelin stars per capita than anywhere else on the planet, these bite-sized noshes are photo ready, gorgeous, delicious and... bonus: affordable.
