WHY:
Visit the store to watch them sculpt colorful, glasslike candies in a variety of exotic flavors.
Add some elegance to this year’s Halloween candy dish. Papabubble’s multi-colored hard candies look like beads of Venetian glass and come in exotic flavors that constantly change, depending on the whim of the candy makers. A few of this week’s flavors are pistachio pebbles, fizzy cola, mango and red chili, bergamot, and watermelon with salt and chili.
Every day, in Papabubble shops all over the world, the candy makers sling the sugar in such a theatrical and athletic way that a crowd forms to watch as they twist, roll, pull, and stretch the candy into beautiful rainbow colors and tiny cylinder shapes.
The finished product is sold in mylar plastic bags or simple glass jars.
