John Besh's New Orleans John Besh's Credentials
Chef John Besh
Oh, when the saints go marching in...

It's the New Orleans Saints vs. the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday at the Louisiana Superdome. If they win, they're Superbowl bound for the first time ever. This will be a nice boost for the city that care forgot.

Crescent City chef John Besh is the hometown boy whose become the state's favorite son. As the owner of six New Orleans restaurants, he shares his favorite places to eat iconic Louisiana dishes.

  • Po-boys at Parkway Bakery on the Bank of Bayou St. John.
  • Seafood Gumbo at Luke on St. Charles, ok it's my place but I still say it's the best, if not there then try Dooky Chase on Orleans Avenue.
  • Sazerac at Galatoire's, one of the best in town.
  • Muffuletta at Nor Joe in Old Metaire or the Frenchaletta at Liuzza's in Mid-City does its muffuletta on a French bread loaf.
  • Jambalaya at The Bon Ton Cafe on Magazine and Natchez, simply the best Creole food done the right way!

Check out John Besh's full list of RECOMMENDATIONS and where to find them, along with the FULL INTERVIEW.
