You may want to consult your phone GPS before you try to find this place, since it’s hidden away down a few narrow, winding cobblestone alleyways in the Barri Gotic. Like most places in Barcelona, don’t go too early unless you like drinking wine in an empty bar with a few other tourists. But go. This is a great, rustic, cave-like wine bar that is worth stopping in for some seitons a l’oli (anchovies in oil) and a glass of Rioja.

We were sent to La Vinateria by the couple who own the restaurant Blavis. They had worked with the owner, Miguel. He was incredibly affable and charming. We didn’t stay long, since we had dinner reservations, but we’d go back in a heartbeat.
