The Experience

M.B. Post & Fishing With Dynamite (FwD)

Every day at M.B. Post and FwD we're cooking soulful, handcrafted, artisanal cuisine using the most pristine products we can find, in a fun and lively atmosphere.

What To Eat at Both of My Restaurants

I would definitely try the Whole Thai Snapper at FwD, have a dozen or so oysters, a live sea urchin, the Hamachi Sashimi and the Key Lime Pie for dessert.

At M.B. Post, the Bacon Cheddar Buttermilk Biscuits with maple butter are great at dinner or brunch, the Honey Laced Fried Chicken is a must for brunch, the Pork Belly Steam Buns for lunch, and the Braised Lamb Neck with Semolina Gnocchi for dinner.  For dessert, the Salted Chocolate Caramel Tart is killer.

Underdogs On My Menus

The Vietnamese Caramel Pork Jowl, the Moroccan BBQ Lamb Belly, and the Hoisin Glazed Pork Belly house made Kim Chi and Duk Boki. Each dish is unctuous, and has great bold and bright flavors.

Local Tips

Must-Try So Cal Delicacies

The Santa Barbara Spot Prawns and Sea Urchin are both phenomenal treats at FwD.

What I Like About Manhattan Beach

It’s great because of the people here, living and contributing to the community. They are laid back, but understand great quality, so I can constantly introduce new ingredients from the best suppliers.

They live outdoors at the beach and have active lives in the sun. The beaches are as beautiful as the people. There are miles of biking and running paths on and off the beach, and a thriving surf and volleyball culture. Plus lots of great shops and restaurants that you can walk to. You can live a calmer, less hectic life here and have one of the best big cities in the world just 15 minutes away.
