In the condiment world, ketchup is king and Sir Kensington Gourmet Scooping Ketchup is hoping to overthrow the leading ruler.
Born in a dorm, Sir Kensington is the brainchild of former Brown University students who thought the ketchup shelf needed an all-natural alternative. After several campus taste testing parties, which served as unscientific focus groups, Scott Norton and Mark Ramadan came up with two concoctions: Classic and Spiced.
What makes their product different? Heinz uses tomato concentrate and high-fructose corn syrup. Sir Kensington starts with crushed whole tomatoes and sweetens with honey, agave nectar and raw sugar.
