In the second installment of our Brazil-focused articles, we have a photo essay from Troy House. While traveling to Rio de Janeiro, he headed up to the Santa Teresa neighborhood to explore and ended up discovering Rustico Restaurante e Bar.

“If you are in Rio and get sick of the Copacabana, Ipanema scene, head up to the amazing little neighborhood of Santa Teresa. A 15-minute cab ride from the beach and a world away, Santa Teresa is a mountaintop village full of bars, art galleries and amazing restaurants. Away from the tourists and the malls of the beach, it feels like you stepped back to 1920s Brazil.

Rustico is housed in an old mansion and feels a lot like eating in someone's home with amazing food. Get there early, put your name on the list, and wander the galleries until your table is ready.

Be sure to also grab a beer at Bar Minero just down the street as well.”
