NEW YORK, NY

New Amsterdam Market

This Sunday, June 27th, the market picks up again at the former Fulton Fish Market. Everything from organic produce, to shucked oysters, to porchetta sandwiches, to foie gras.

FED Tip: Luke's for fresh, sustainably caught Maine lobster rolls.

Brooklyn Flea

Where indie producers like Liddabit Sweets, Salvatore Bklyn, and Choncho's Tacos became stars. Note: there's no indoor market this Sunday.

FED Tip: Asiadog has unusual twists on the standard hot dog, like the Ito: Japanese curry, homemade kimchi, and apples.

AUSTIN, TX

Farmers Market at Republic Square Park

Sustainable produce, artisan-roasted coffee, empanadas, even shepherd's pies.

FED Tip from chef Rene Ortiz: Dai Due on Saturday mornings for house made chorizo in corn tortillas and molasses bacon BLT's.

LOS ANGELES, CA

Santa Monica Farmers Market

The produce from here is bought by the top restaurants in the US.

FED Tip from Mikuni Wild Harvest's Tyler Gray: Harry's Strawberries has quite possible… no strike that, most definitely the best strawberries I've ever eaten in my life.

SEATTLE, WA

Pike Place Fish Market

Flowers, fish, even a barber shop, but go early to avoid the crowds.

FED Tip from chef Tyson Cole: It's packed full of incredibly fresh seasonal seafood and produce. I took a whole roll of pics just of tomatoes!

SAN FRANCISCO, CA

Ferry Building Marketplace

FED Tips:

- from maître fromager Max McCalman: Cowgirl Creamery's Artisan shop.

- from chef Fergus Henderson: Boulette's Larder.

- from Baked NYC Matt Lewis: Miette Cakes.

BARCELONA, SPAIN

Mercat De La Boqueria

Gawk at lambs' heads and skinned piglets. Nibble on Jamon Iberico.

FED Tip: Eat chickpeas with blood sausage, raisins, and pine nuts at Bar Pinotxo, located to the right of the main entrance.

LONDON, UK

Borough Market

Raclette, curries, and loads of sweets to sample if you're peckish.

FED Tip: The chorizo sandwich from Brindisa's is well worth the "queue."

FED Tip from chef Fergus Henderson: Neal's Yard Dairy for cheeses from the British Isles.

MONTREAL, CANADA

Marché Jean-Talon

Quebec cheeses, ciders, rare mushrooms, and smoked fish.

FED Tip: Stop at La Fournee des Sucreries for a maple syrup pie, and the Jardins Sauvages' kiosk for indigenous wild edibles.
